2019 Elections: PDP’ll Maintain Continuity In Ebonyi State – Gov Umahi

Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief David Umahi has disclosed that every party would be equal playing ground to demonstrate their party’s strength but warned that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will maintain their continuity in power in 2019 elections.

Umahi stated this when he hosted som stakeholders and members of the Ebonyi state house of Assembly in Abakaliki on Monday.

”I will not stop any person from contesting in the forthcoming 2019 election but continuity will help Ebonyi people. We will not present a candidate that is not popular.

“I want to thank the speaker of Ebonyi state house of Assembly for their great support.
What we are going to do for the house of Assembly, is that all the members that are contesting must organize rally in their constituencies and I’m going to come there. I will visit all their rallies one by one.

“It will not just be the delegate that will elect you because my votes are tied to your own. I will not disenfranchise the masses. If your number is greater, then we will start supporting you. Just go back to your constituencies expect the speaker and deputy speaker.

“Go back to your constituencies and mobilize. Don’t just go and relaxed that the governor has endorsed you.

“There will be no crisis. We will discus very well with all National assembly members to avoid crisis. We will not allow other political parties to penetrate us,” he stated.
“The country is bigger than all of us. Let me tell them, if rigging has been tried elsewhere it won’t work here. The people will defend this election. We are aware of plans to bring thugs here to disrupt the election. The people will stand up to them.

“The PDP leadership is in the state today to strengthen our hands and assured us of their support. I want to say that this election is about the people for the people and it must be so. Ekiti election is not only about Nigeria. The whole world is watching.”
